“Boyz II Men”

An organization who prides itself on providing and standing with the community. This project aligned perfectly with me. Sponsored and funded by Projectivity and NYC Thrive. I was given created freedom to create this work of art.

Teach and Learn

I depicted the image of a boy sitting on a stack of books symbolizing knowledge and being adaptable. The claw machine represents him being the chosen one. He is sitting in a portal as if the books and the knowledge are giving him the tools to live outside of his “normal environment”. Separating yourself from things that may mean you no good.

From pawns to kings.

The left most section depicts a pawn piece on a “double sided ladder” (an illusion). Sometimes it takes reaching king status and going back to being a pawn to understand what it truly meant to be a king. The little boy below the ladder is writing on the wall like we all did as kids.
